  4. August 13th Shawville Antique Association Fair. About 10 vintage bikes were on display, 6 ridden
from Ottawa, plus a couple from Vernon Fairhead who lives near Shawville. In addition to the
bikes there was a traction engine, about 50 vintage tractors, old trucks and cars, plus some very
interesting working model engines. The bikes were a great crowd pleaser, and we're sure to be
asked back in greater numbers next year. Don Cutts from the Ottawa section won an award, Vern
won two awards (NOT local favouritism, surely) . These and other details, and lots of pictures can
be found by clicking the link above.
  5. August 7th After Breakfast ride to Winchester Antique Auto Fair. After breakfast at Local Heroes
a total of six riders decided to have a ride to Winchester, meeting with Zeik Steward and his

plenty of interesting people and machinery. Quite a few from Ottawa enjoyed the good company
and excellent weather. CVMGPictures to come!
  8. July 9th - 10th 2005 St. Albert rally. - Third annual rally at the St. Albert's Cheese Factory, this one
headed by Pierre who did a fine job.
  9. July 1st. 2005. The Dominion Day Ride: Doug Smith did a great job of putting together a great
route plan, that provided quite roads, good scenery, and the smell of fresh mown hay taking us to
Constance Bay, Arnprior, Antrim Truck Stop, Pakenham, and Almonte. See link to Dominion Day
Ride page above for photos and stories. members of the Ottawa Section attended the Paris rally.
See link to Paris Rally page above for photos and stories.

    or towed to Paris!
  11. June 12th Ride to Shawville, Pontiac, Quebec to see Vernon's collection of classics and basket
cases. Don Cutts will have a tale to tell about high speed front tire blow-outs on gravel roads. We
won't mention the make of bike to protect the innocent.
  12. May 29th 2005 Oxford Mills "Show n Shine" ride. This is the "official" opening ride of the season,
although many of us have been out on other rides before. At Oxford Mills the older bikes are on
show with vintage cars and commercial vehicles, together with a few "hot rods" that are styled on
1930's vehicles. About 10 members of our group rode to Oxford Mills, and Frank Tetzlaff went in
his car. There may be a longer story about this ride that will come from the hand of our scribe Don
    Cutts.
  13. May 28th maison Costa Zarifi BBQ ride (Alexandria). 7 members of the Ottawa Section and 2
members of the nation River section rode about 100 miles to the Montreal Section BBQ at the
home of Costa at Alexandria. Due to a tardy departure, plus roadside repair to a '66 Triumph
Trophy and some socializing on the way, 4 of the Ottawa section arrived just as the last hamburger
was being consumed. We had a very enjoyable visit and ate the cheeseburgers minus the patie.
on the way back, we had another roadside repair this time to a '68 Triumph Trophy. Despite these
minor setbacks everyone had a good day and made it back to Ottawa before the evening chill
    was too uncomfortable.
  14. Dave Makin Lanark trial on Sunday, May 15 can be found at www.igs.net/~besa  There is a good
chance the blackflies will be out, so come prepared. This is a good walk in the woods and a great
opportunity to take some fun photos of your friends falling off trials bikes.
