August 13th Shawville Antique Association Fair. About 10 vintage bikes were on display, 6 ridden from Ottawa, plus a couple from Vernon Fairhead who lives near Shawville. In addition to the bikes there was a traction engine, about 50 vintage tractors, old trucks and cars, plus some very interesting working model engines. The bikes were a great crowd pleaser, and we're sure to be asked back in greater numbers next year. Don Cutts from the Ottawa section won an award, Vern won two awards (NOT local favouritism, surely) . These and other details, and lots of pictures can be found by clicking the link above.

May 29th 2005 Oxford Mills "Show n Shine" ride. This is the "official" opening ride of the season, although many of us have been out on other rides before. At Oxford Mills the older bikes are on show with vintage cars and commercial vehicles, together with a few "hot rods" that are styled on 1930's vehicles. About 10 members of our group rode to Oxford Mills, and Frank Tetzlaff went in his car. There may be a longer story about this ride that will come from the hand of our scribe Don Cutts.
May 28th maison Costa Zarifi BBQ ride (Alexandria). 7 members of the Ottawa Section and 2 members of the nation River section rode about 100 miles to the Montreal Section BBQ at the home of Costa at Alexandria. Due to a tardy departure, plus roadside repair to a '66 Triumph Trophy and some socializing on the way, 4 of the Ottawa section arrived just as the last hamburger was being consumed. We had a very enjoyable visit and ate the cheeseburgers minus the patie. on the way back, we had another roadside repair this time to a '68 Triumph Trophy. Despite these minor setbacks everyone had a good day and made it back to Ottawa before the evening chill was too uncomfortable.
