It is with sadness, that we have to announce that Jim Hunter passed away on Friday, 12th October
following a couragous fight with cancer. Jim was a lifelong motorcyclist and a founding member of the
Ottawa Section of the CVMG, as well as being a founder of the Montreal Section of the CVMG.
There was a well attended visitation for Jim on October 16th, at Pinecrest Visitation Centre, 2500
Baseline Road Ottawa. His son Doug, put together a slide-show that gave the story of Jim's life,
family, career, and of course his motorcycles. We all hope that he is at peace, and having fun with
some of his old chums, who led the way on this journey we all take.
Everyone remembers the superb quality of Jim's motorcycle restorations, and all the personal qualities
he brought to the Ottawa Section of the CVMG. There are several of Jim stories on this website, they

Jim was also the host of the annual BBQ where he invited the Montreal CVMG and the Norton
Owners Club, as well as Ottawa Section of the CVMG.
